The MXH952 Gen4 PCI Express Transparent Host and Target Cable Adapter is our high performance optical interface to external IO subsystems. Based on Microchip PFX Gen 4.0 PCI Express bridging architecture and Samtec PCIe Gen3 FireFly® optical engine, the MXH952 adapter includes advanced features for transparent operations and clock isolation.

Product Data
The MXH942 Gen4 PCI Express Host Adapter is our medium performance cabled interface to external IO subsystems. Based on Microchip PFX Gen4 PCI Express bridging architecture, the MXH952 Transparent Host and Target adapter includes advanced features for transparent bridging (TB), host and clock isolation. The MXH952 card utilizes the Samtec PCIe 3.0 FireFly® optical engine enabling distances up to 100 meters. If you need full PCIe Gen4 performance at the PCIe link, please consider the MXH942 card.
The MXH952 card is a transparent only product. To utilize Dolphin's PCIe clustering software, you need to purchase the MXH950 Gen4 NTB Adapter card.
Variants
The card is available in several variants with reduced number of FireFly optical modules mounted. The maximum performance and supported topologies for these cards will vary. Details can be found in the following table:

Fiber MPO Patch Cables
The MXH95x cards are carefully designed for maximum cable length and supports fiber cables up to 100 meter optical cables. The x8 FireFly device configuration requires two MPO female, 24 strand, OM3 50/125, Key up - Key up (Type C) cables. The x4 FireFly device configuration requires two MPO female, 12 strand, OM3 50/125, Key up - Key up (Type B) cables.
